While it is summer for most of our team, we’re not just reading books in the sun or relaxing on a beach somewhere. (Well, some of us might be…) So far this summer, the Trolley team has been working on some big platform updates that we believe will add value for your business.
One thing you’ll notice is we’re working towards a larger global presence: we’ve done localization work for key IRS tax forms, and we’ve translated them into the top 10 languages used by our recipients. This means an easier time getting your foreign contractors onboarded.
On top of this, we have an update in regards to our SOC 2® certification, plus for developers/integrators, we added new API/widget domains… with a note on how this may affect you (simply put, not that much).
So, read on and learn what’s new with Trolley.
To get started now, log in to the Trolley platform. If you’re looking for more details, keep reading or book a demo of any features you think will add value to your payout workflow.
SOC 2® Type 1 certification
In June/July, our data security team completed our first SOC 2® audit and received SOC 2® (Type 1) certification. This is a significant step forward for our data-security efforts. SOC 2® is an industry standard certification administered by the 3rd party organization AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants).
In short, for our users, this is just one more demonstration of our commitment to protecting your data. Data security is an ongoing process, and we will keep you informed as we have more updates.
Localized tax forms
In June, we announced support for tax forms in French and Spanish. Through June & July, we increased our capabilities in terms of localized tax forms, now offering a total of 10 different languages:
- Chinese (Simplified)
- English
- French
- German
- Indonesian
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Portuguese (Brazilian)
- Spanish
- Vietnamese
These are the top-ten languages that recipients on our platform work in. This is one step towards our goal of making the onboarding and tax compliance process as easy as possible, and we aim to continue this work in other areas of our product.
Transition to Trolley domains
Please note the following change for anyone using our API/widget: the domains used have been updated to reflect the Trolley name.
- api.paymentrails.com is now api.trolley.com
- portal.paymentrails.com is now portal.trolley.com
These changes have been reflected both in the product as well as the Trolley API documentation.
Important note: If you’re using paymentrails.com domains as part of your integration, You don’t need to update today. The corresponding paymentrails.com domains still function, and there is no immediate plan to sunset them.
As well, you’ll notice product notifications/billing emails coming from an @trolley.com email address. Make sure to add us to your contacts to continue receiving these important communications.
SWIFT transfers to Mali
As of June 2022, payments to recipients located in Mali need to be made via USD SWIFT transfers. These types of changes happen from time to time based on updates to our banking partner’s routes, and we will update you when any routes change in the future.
We’re hearing about taxes a lot lately. We said it last time, but a small reminder… our roadmap has some items on it that aim to help customers manage some pressing tax regulation changes in the US (1099-K) and the EU (DAC7).
Talk to Trolley sales or your customer success manager if you’re interested in learning more.
