We’re proud to share that in 2025, once again, Trolley has been recognized on The Globe and Mail’s list of Canada’s Top Growing Companies. This year, Trolley ranked 158th overall and 127th in the Technology category, based on verified three-year revenue growth of 228%.
This marks our second consecutive year on this prestigious list, reaffirming Trolley’s position as a Canadian technology leader—and a company shaping the future of PayoutOps and RecipientOps worldwide.
What we cover
What this recognition means
The Canada’s Top Growing Companies program celebrates Canadian businesses that have achieved remarkable revenue growth over the last three years. To be included among 400 companies spanning every sector is an honor, and it validates the work our team and customers do together to raise the bar for how payouts are managed and the experience that recipients receive.
Each year, Trolley processes billions of dollars in payments across 210+ countries and territories, reaching more than 5 million payees worldwide as of publication. These numbers underscore the trust businesses place in us to power critical financial relationships at scale.
Tim Nixon, CEO of Trolley, shared his take: “Growth matters most when it’s built on customer success. Our second year on this list reflects how Trolley is helping businesses turn payouts into a competitive advantage. From creators and artists to freelancers and suppliers, our customers depend on us to power vital relationships. We’ll continue to lead the way in payout and recipient operations, so our customers can focus on growth, not administration.”
Building on momentum
Recognition on this list also follows two years of ranking on Deloitte’s Fast 50 (Canada) and Fast 500 (North America).
“These accolades highlight the consistency of our growth and the global demand for smarter payout infrastructure,” noted VP Marketing Vincent Guerin.
That momentum was reinforced in November 2024, when Trolley closed a $23M USD Series B round (led by Wavecrest Growth Partners), giving us the capital needed to accelerate product innovation and market expansion.
Proof in practice: customer success stories
Today, some of the world’s most recognized and innovative companies rely on Trolley to move money at scale and strengthen their relationships with the people who power their businesses:
- Canva: Supporting designers and creators with fast, reliable payouts.
- SoundCloud: Streamlining artist payments across a global music platform.
- Bugcrowd: Paying ethical hackers daily to keep the internet safe.
- Downtown Music (including CD Baby and Soundrop): Automating royalty payouts and tax compliance for independent artists and labels.
- Envato: Connecting creative professionals with clients worldwide through seamless payouts.
And our customers echo that impact in their own words.
‘With Trolley, everything we needed was there. Trolley checked every box: strong API, broad payment coverage, and a tax platform we could rely on. It was clear they understood businesses like ours,” said Markus Naumann, Head of Community at Test IO.
Feedback like this highlights what sets Trolley apart: payouts aren’t just transactions; they’re the foundation of trust between businesses and the people who power them.
Looking ahead
As the digital economy expands, powered by remote work, creators, and now AI, the demand for strong PayoutOps and RecipientOps workflows continues to grow. Companies are moving away from manual processes and disconnected tools in favor of integrated, reliable solutions that scale.
At Trolley, we’re building exactly that. With over a decade of leadership under CEO Tim Nixon, and strengthened by the addition of CFO Marie-Rose Rioux Marceau in 2024, we’re ensuring the financial discipline and vision needed for the long haul.
We’re excited to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in payouts, helping global businesses operate more efficiently, grow faster, and build lasting trust with their communities.
